Vehicle Struck By Train In Westchester Causes Metro-North Delays

Metro-North service in Westchester County was delayed after a vehicle was struck by a train at a railway crossing.

The incident happened at the railway crossing on Virginia Road in North White Plains.

The incident happened on Wednesday night, Jan. 18 around 8 p.m. in North White Plains at the Virginia Road rail crossing, according to the Valhalla Ambulance Corps.

The accident impacted the Harlem Line between North White Plains and Southeast, causing scattered delays of up to 80 minutes, Metro-North reported.

Luckily, the crossing arm at the intersection was able to prevent the accident from being much worse, and everyone involved escaped without injuries.
